Wounded Knee

This is an excellent video which depicts events surrounding the Wounded Knee Massacre. This is emotional in discussing the treatment of the Sioux, and will offer new insight into how the United States pursued it's Indian Removal Policy.

Wow! What a moving film! I don’t remember learning about the Wounded Knee Massacre in school, but I’m pretty sure if I did, it was in a textbook with maybe one picture with a caption. This video just lays it out and makes you feel like you were there.

I do have one question, though. The movie painted a picture of helpless Indians who just wanted peace, standing unarmed in front of a wall of soldiers who mercilessly shot them without any kind of a struggle. Then at about 7 min 35 seconds in, the narrator addresses the long chain of wounded and dead soldiers and Indians. It doesn’t work with the flow of the story. How were there wounded and dead soldiers? What part is the movie leaving out? Just a thought. . . .
